Writing for the East Tennessean

I have been writing for the East Tennessean since August 2019.

I am an Arts and Entertainment writer, normally covering concerts, exhibits and events on campus. I have had some amazing opportunities to talk to cool and interesting people in the short amount of time I have worked there, and I hope to be able to expand those opportunities as time goes on.

I shoot with a Nikon D3100, so if you ever see any of my photos that's what I use. Writing has never really been my first love, but working for the ET has made me more invested in the journalistic writing I do.

My involvement in "Overlooked in Appalachia" last semester also taught me a lot about reporting.

My dream job is to work from a print newspaper publication doing photography and writing articles. In general I just want to be able to talk to people, hear their stories, and share them. There is so much of the world waiting to be shared if we only tune into that. I want to be able to capture the little things on a large scale. I want to be able to see the world from new perspectives and capture those perspectives accurately. I want to give a voice to those who feel marginalized. I want to be able to make a difference through my work.
