Shop local, Johnson City. They need you.


During the coronavirus pandemic, small business owners are having to make difficult decisions, such as whether or not to keep business running as usual or to shut down until the situation settles down.

Johnson City has experienced this firsthand, but businesses are getting creative in how they continue to offer goods and services. If you are interested in contributing, I have listed below some businesses and ways you can help them continue to flourish. If you have any other suggestions to add, please comment or let me know!

SHOPS


Boomtown will have new hours starting March 31, being open 12-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. They are taking precautionary measures to keep everything safe and sanitized. Customers can also shop through their online store.

Atlantis is open but monitoring the situation daily. You can purchase a gift certificate in person or online. Other products from the shop can also be purchased online; call in for further assistance.

Campbell's Morrell Music is doing curbside pick-up. Call in and pay via credit card or Paypal; they will bring what you purchased to your vehicle. Credit card orders must be at least $5.

Charlotte's Florals is offering mini "Care Packages" including a candle, chocolate and a small bouquet of flowers for $30. Flower deliveries are available for Tri-Cities and the surrounding areas with no additional cost for delivery. You can find more information on her website.

Owl's Nest is taking the necessary sanitary precautions to ensure safety. They are open, but not putting out newly bought clothing for a week.They are adding a lot online items.

Jones Chiropractic Clinic is open, following state regulations. If you are concerned about sitting in the waiting room, they ask that you call when you arrive. They will sign you in and come get you when it's your turn, taking you back to your appointment. They encourage everyone to keep their scheduled appointments.

RESTAURANTS


Gift cards and merchandise can be purchased through their website. They are remaining open for now, but check their social media for frequent updates.

They have closed as of 3/19. They are working on putting more merchandise online for people to show their support.

Freiberg's is accepting call-in orders for curbside pickup or encouraging guests to use Double Time Delivery as a delivery option. Their dining area is being sanitized frequently and seating tables at least 6 feet apart.  

Timber's bar and dining room are open at 50% capacity. You can order food to-go via phone or reach them via email at pinesthospitality@gmail.com. Gift cards can also be purchased to support the restaurant here.

Scratch is accepting call-in orders for pickup as well as delivery with Double Time Delivery.

Scratch will temporarily close on 3/20. They will have limited services as listed above until then, but gift certificates are also available.

Mid City will actually be closed for at least the next two weeks, but you can support them by buying a gift card or two.

Wild Wing's dining rooms are open with precautionary measures being taken. Guests can order to-go for curbside pick-up or use delivery services.

Johnson City Brewing Company's taproom is running on limited hours. You can order online or call 423-930-4186 or (276)-494-1656 for assistance.

Magic Wok is offering delivery and curbside pick-up for all orders. You can order online

One Acre is offering a special take-out menu Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; curbside pick-up is also available. They recommend calling ahead at 423-483-0517.

The newly opened Cootie Brown's on State of Franklin has curbside pick-up and carryout.

For now, this ETSU student beloved location remains open. They are also offering curbside take-our service via phone calls. 

Amigo is accepting pick-up orders and is open during regular business hours.

JK Sweet Cakes is open and taking extra steps to keep the shop clean. They can bring any goods out to you if you do not want to come into the store.

Dine-in is unavailable, but Red Meze is offering free delivery along with carry out and pick-up services. You can contact them at 423-268-2665.
